SoLa Impact and its nonprofit affiliate, SoLa I CAN, have launched a new educational initiative, the COVID-19 Retraining & Recovery Fund (CORE). The fund offers scholarships to South LA residents whose jobs have been lost because of COVID-19. CORE will pay for enrollment and completion of in-person or online professional certification and training program that will be in high-demand as our society adapts to a new COVID-19 reality, such as healthcare and technology. CORE will partner with local and national educational institutions to help ensure students commit and complete recertification programs paired with job placement and technical assistance services.
