Senior Food Meals
CalFresh provides monthly food benefits to individuals and families who qualify based on income. Families receive an easy to use Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that works like a debit card for food purchases at many local grocery stores and some online stores. There is also Pandemic EBT..

Get up to $204 a month per household member in 30 days or less
WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Special Supplemental Nutrition Program
WIC provides families with children under age 5 money for healthy supplemental foods. The program also offers nutrition and health education, breastfeeding support and referrals to healthcare and other community services.
WIC is open to low-income pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children until their fifth birthday.
COVID-19 Retraining & Recovery (CORE) Fund Scholarship
SoLa Impact and its nonprofit affiliate, SoLa I CAN, have launched a new educational initiative, the COVID-19 Retraining & Recovery Fund (CORE). The fund offers scholarships to South LA residents whose jobs have been lost because of COVID-19. CORE will pay for enrollment and completion of in-person or online professional certification and training program that will be in high-demand as our society adapts to a new COVID-19 reality, such as healthcare and technology. CORE will partner with local and national educational institutions to help ensure students commit and complete recertification programs paired with job placement and technical assistance services.
